Message from the President Dr Pieter Verhoek
Dear Members,
Welcome again to or newsletter with updates and information from
FASAVA Executive Board.
I am pleased to announce that we now have a CPD Director and he
is Dr Clement Anthony from Malaysia. Dr Anthony has an extensive
history in organising CPD in Malaysia and previously has had a similar
role with World Small Animal Veterinary Association [WSAVA] and
we are delighted to have Dr Anthony working with us. He has already
organised a Dermatology course in Mumbai India and there are more
short courses in the pipeline. If you have any requests for FASAVA
and Hills Pet Nutrition CPD in your country please contact Dr Anthony
directly, or our Secretary.
FASAVA Executive Board is continuing to develop its prime partnership
with Hills Pet Nutrition and I would like to take this opportunity
to thank Dr Jason Chuei, our Hills Pet Nutrition liaison for his
willingness to partner with FASAVA. May this be a long and fruitful
partnership for both parties.
FASAVA Executive Board met recently in Kuala Lumpar late April.
We try to meet twice each year, once at our annual Congress and
again mid-way between our Congresses. We received updates from Dr
David Tan from Taiwan Veterinary Medical Association and Dr Amilan
Sivaguranathan about our upcoming FASAVA Congresses.
Taiwan is hosting FASAVA in November 19-22 2015 in Taipei and their
preparation organisation is coming along very nicely. We are expecting
a wonderful Congress with superb education so do not delay, register
now, at their website www.2015fasava.com.
I look forward to seeing you there.
Malaysia, Kuala Lumpar is hosting FASAVA Congress in 2016 and once
more FASAVA Executive Board were extremely pleased with the progress
Malaysia Veterinary Association are making. Preparation is very
advanced and again this should be a Congress not to miss.
I am sad to report that Dr Jong-Il Kang from Korea, past President
of FASAVA in 2011 - 2013 will be retiring from FASAVA Executive
Board at the Taipei Congress. Dr Kang, as President, did a wonderful
job and represented FASAVA proudly. We will miss him. But this does
open a door for someone to fill his vacant position. If anyone is
keen to offer themselves for the FASAVA Board please contact our
Secretary Dr Gopinathan
Gangadharan.
Thank you all for your support. And remember, if you would like
CPD contact Dr Clement Anthony via our secretary.
Pieter Verhoek
President FASAVA
Best Wishes for 2015
